about J&L

Many churches and organizations today struggle to needlessly operate in isolation. Dealing with a smaller size talent pool and an often purely voluntary staff, these groups often settle for what they can do on their own only because a network of like-minded individuals and their corresponding talents is simply not available. This need has led to a growing desire in me to increase unity, cooperation, and collaberation dramatically among those called to serve one another.

J & L is a personal effort of mine to bring together community driven organizations through the advancement of their own and one another's image and public presence.

Operating primarily through the art of graphic design, J&L strives to awaken in each organization the language, emotions, and experiences associated with their unique passions and expressions of it. As each organization is engaged, a further effort is made to bring  groups together so that more bold and daring actions can be done to better our communities.

The inspiration for J&L (Joints and LIgaments) Design comes from my own observations within the vast denominations of Christian community and it's relation to the following passage...

"Let no one disqualify you, insisting on asceticism and worship of angels, going on in detail about visions, puffed up without reason by his sensuous mind, and not holding fast to the Head, from whom the whole body, nourished and knit together through its joints and ligaments, grows with a growth that is from God." - Colossians 2:18-19

Our joints and ligaments hold the body's essential parts together allowing controlled movement and mobility. Their unique ability to hold together and move provide us the further ability to move and function holistically. Similarly, J&L Design desires to be a catalyst in our community to bring together those groups who understand that much more can be done when collaboration and confidence coalesce.

The logo for J&L represents the ankle joint and it's associated parts. This part of our body can allow us to run fast, jump high, and travel far when all parts are working in cooperation. If however, one simple solitary part is slightly off, our body can experience trouble from our feet all the way to our foreheads. Ask anyone with feet problems how much it affects their daily life. Let us work together, building up the body, nourishing one another and awakening to life more abundant.
